Turkey begins construction of second Ada-class corvette for Ukrainian Navy
According to Turkish Defence Turk, Turkey has started building a second Ada corvette for the Ukrainian Navy.
Here's What We Know
According to the source, metal has already been cut for the corvette. Exactly when this happened is unknown. Once the steel is cut, the formation of the ship's hull begins. Presumably, the construction of the corvette should be completed in 2024. By the way, last October the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska launched the first corvette of the Ukrainian Navy Hetman Ivan Mazepa.
Flashback

Ukraine signed a contract to build two such corvettes in 2020. The first corvette is due to enter service with the Ukrainian Navy in 2023 or 2024. The Ada-type corvette is 99.5m long and can accommodate a crew of up to 93. The ship reaches a top speed of 29 knots.
