Poland buys 800 AGM-114R2 Hellfire missiles from the US for AH-64E Apache Guardian and AgustaWestland AW149 helicopters

Poland continues to arm itself by announcing a new contract for the purchase of AGM-114R2 Hellfire missiles.

Here's What We Know

This was announced by Polish Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak. We are talking about 800 missiles. Their sale has been already approved by the US State Department. In addition to the missiles, the contract will also include technical and logistical support, as well as spare parts. The approximate cost of the order is $150,000,000. There is no information about when the delivery of the missiles will start.

Incidentally, the Polish Army is going to use the AGM-114R2 Hellfire with the new AW 149 multirole and AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopters.

Flashback

The AGM-114R2 Hellfire is one of the latest versions of the Hellfire air-to-ground anti-tank missile. It has laser guidance and a multi-target warhead. The missile weighs 46kg. It is capable of engaging targets at ranges up to 8km.
