$1,000,000,000 contract: Slovakia buys 12 Bell AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters and 500 AGM-114 Hellfire II missiles
Slovakia is going to strengthen its air force with new American helicopters.
Here's What We Know
According to defence minister Jaro Nad, Slovakia is buying 12 Bell AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters from the US, as well as 500 AGM-114 Hellfire II missiles. The contract is worth $1,000,000,000, but Slovakia will pay only $330,000,000. The US will take over the rest in exchange for Slovakia handing over Soviet-made MiG-29 fighter jets to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. There is no information when helicopter deliveries will start.
