KF-21 Advanced Generation 4++ Fighter Launches AIM-2000 IRIS-T Missile for the First Time

South Korea continues to test its advanced KF-21 Boramae fighter aircraft. The Generation 4++ aircraft has launched an AIM-2000 IRIS-T missile.

Late last month, the second KF-21 prototype first launched the Meteor air-to-air missile, which was developed by MBDA. The second prototype again took part in the new test. This time, the fighter launched the AIM-2000 IRIS-T air-to-air missile for the first time.

This was announced by the Defense Advanced Development Agency of South Korea (DAPA). According to the agency, the IRIS-T was successfully launched on April 4, 2023. The main aim of the event was to identify the impact of the launch of the IRIS-T on the Republic of Korea's military base and to clarify the nature of the missile's intentions, as well as the missile's intentions.
