Lockheed Martin and Rheinmetall to jointly produce unique multiple rocket launchers in Germany

Lockheed Martin and Rheinmetall have announced that they are joining forces to launch production of unique multiple rocket launchers in Germany. The German manufacturer has issued an official press release, but it cannot be called informative.

The memorandum of understanding aims to provide the German armed forces with a new unique multiple rocket launcher system with battle-tested components, which will be produced in the country. Armin Papperger, CEO of Rheinmetall, said the agreement with Lockheed Martin is of strategic importance.

The published press release does not provide any information on which multiple rocket launchers will be produced in Germany. However, earlier this year, Rheinmetall's CEO officially confirmed talks with Lockheed Martin to start production of the M142 HIMARS.
