The US Air Force held an 'elephant ride' of KC-135 Stratotanker refuellers. The event took place at MacDill in Florida.

Here's What We Know

An "elephant walk" is an operation where multiple aircraft take to the skies at the same time. In our case, 18 KC-135 Stratotanker aerial refuellers. This was part of the Violent Storm exercise aimed at mobilising the fleet quickly.

Preparing the 18 aircraft took about six hours and involved more than seven hundred professionals. This elephant ride was one of the largest involving KC-135 aerial refuelers. A larger number of aircraft have taken to the skies at the same time only in 2021 - 20 units.
