Bell and Boeing awarded $482.3m to produce and deliver CMV-22B Osprey convertible aircraft to the US Navy
Boeing and Bell have been awarded an additional contract to produce convertibles for the US Navy. The deal was announced on the official website of the US Department of Defense.

The combined office has been awarded $482.3 million. The new deal aims to manufacture and deliver four convertiplanes. Work will take place at plants in Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, Utah and will be completed by June 2026.
The CMV-22B is one of several modifications to the V-22 Osprey convertiplane. This version is used by the US Navy's transport aviation force. The aircraft is capable of reaching speeds of up to 565km/h and 185km/h in aeroplane and helicopter modes respectively.
Compared to the MV-22B, the US Navy version has a longer range, improved fuel dumping capability, a hands-free passenger communications system, and an improved lighting system for cargo loading. The CMV-22B will be able to carry up to 6,000 pounds (2,720 kg) of cargo/personnel over a range of 1,150 nautical miles (2,130 km).
