Northrop Grumman reveals secret stealth aircraft in video - it could be the NGAD sixth-generation fighter
For the second time in two years, Northrop Grumman has revealed on video a mysterious stealth aircraft. It could be a sixth generation fighter being developed for the US Air Force under the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) programme.
Here's What We Know
This time, the company has released three videos, each lasting 15 seconds. They were filmed in the Northrop Grumman hangar. The video above first gets a shot of the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye early warning aircraft, which is used by the US Navy and will remain in service for about 20 years. Then the EA-18G Growler enters the frame.
Naturally, the third aircraft attracts the most interest. The new video, unlike the one from 2021, gives a better view of the mysterious stealth fighter. It matches the NGAD concept, which calls for high range, low visibility and the ability to carry a large payload.
We also see the air intakes and the cockpit, which is designed for a single pilot. Externally, the aircraft resembles the B-21 Raider nuclear bomber. It was announced by Northrop Grumman in late 2022.
