Photographer captures spectacular shots of fifth-generation F-35C Lightning II fighter jet flying at low altitude at near-sonic speed
Aviation photographer @point_mugu_skies took effective photos of the F-35C fighter jet during a test flight. He posted the photos on his Instagram page.
Here's What We Know
The pictures were taken over a canyon in California where the Sidewinder route passes. It's quite a good spot for photographers. A few days ago we wrote about the appearance of spectacular shots of the F-117 Nighthawk. They were taken by photographer @stinkjet. Now another professional's camera lens has caught the F-35C.
The fifth generation fighter belongs to the US Navy. To be more precise, the aircraft is assigned to the Vampire Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Nine. It is based at its base in China Lake, California.
The route the aircraft flew twice is called Sidewinder. The US Navy and Air Force use it for training. The F-35C flew at low altitude at near-sonic speed, which allowed for spectacular photos.
And since we're the website writing about gadgets, let's note that the pictures were taken with a Sony α7R full-frame camera. The photographer also used a Sony FE 400mm lens with a brightness of F/2.8.
