Ukrainian pilots to receive familiarisation training on Swedish JAS 39 Gripen fighters
In addition to the F-16s, Ukrainian pilots will also be able to undergo a training programme for the JAS 39 Gripen fighters.
Here's What We Know
This was announced by Swedish Defence Minister Pål Jonson. It is about the familiarisation programme. A few experienced Ukrainian pilots will have a chance to train on the simulators and then test the planes.
By the way, the training program does not mean that Sweden plans to transfer JAS 39 Gripen fighters to the Ukrainian armed forces. In this way Sweden wants to demonstrate the features of its planes so that Ukraine could buy them in the future if it so desires.
