The Spanish army has ordered €40.5 million worth of 155mm ammunition with a range of 40km for the M109A5 and SAIC 155/52 howitzers

Expal Systems has received an order from the Spanish Army to produce and supply 155mm long-range ammunition. They are designed for towed and self-propelled howitzers.

The deal amounted to €40.5m, making it the largest in recent years. Ammunition with a range of up to 40 km for the M109A5 self-propelled howitzer and the SIAC 155/52 towed artillery units will be delivered within a few months.

The Spanish Ministry of Defence has also awarded Expal Systems another small contract for the production and supply of conventional 155mm artillery rounds. The value of this deal is €6.2 million.
