KMW and Elbit showcase the Euro-PULS system on an IVECO chassis with launcher for GMLRS M31, Accular, EXTRA, Predator Hawk, NSM and JSF-M missiles
Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) and Israel's Elbit Systems have unveiled the Euro-PULS multiple rocket launcher. It is expected to appear in the future in the German army.
Here's What We Know
Euro-PULS is based on Israel's PULS rocket system, which uses a Mercedes or Tatra truck as its chassis. It is capable of launching Accular (122 mm, 35 km / 160 mm, 40 km), EXTRA (306 mm, 150 km) and Predator Hawk (370 mm, 300 km) missiles.
Euro-PULS uses an IVECO chassis. In addition to the above-mentioned munitions, the new system will be capable of launching Naval Strike Missile (NSM), GMLRS M31 and Joint Fire Support Missile (JFS-M). The latter will have a launch range of up to 500km.
The German publication Bild wrote this week that the Bundeswehr intends to purchase the Euro-PULS, but this information has not yet been officially confirmed. The acquisition will expand the jet artillery fleet to 80 systems.
