France upgrades Eurocopter Tiger attack helicopter fleet to Mk.2+ standard
The French armed forces have decided to modernise their fleet of Eurocopter Tiger attack helicopters.

The information was shared by Emmanuel Chiva, armament delegate general. The helicopters are going to be upgraded to the Mk.2+ standard, which includes an overhaul of the propulsion system as well as replacement and upgrade of electronic systems. A total of 67 aircraft are to be modernised in France. The project is to be carried out jointly with Spain. France has not yet given a date for modernisation.

The Tiger is a modern strike aircraft developed by the Franco-German Eurocopter consortium. It first entered service in 2003. The helicopter is available in different modifications. The helicopter is operated by France, Germany, Spain and Australia.
