Ukraine can expect an additional $6.2bn in military aid from the US. This became possible after the US recalculated the aid already provided.

Here's What We Know

The US Department of Defence has released $6.2bn for Ukraine, according to Sabrina Singh, deputy Pentagon press secretary.

As it became known following the audit, the US overestimated the military aid to Ukraine by $6.2 billion. The reason was that the old equipment and ammunition were estimated in FY2022-2023 (FY) prices.

In FY2022, the error in the calculation of military assistance was $2.6bn. In FY2023, it reached $3.6bn. Sabrina Singh stressed that by the end of FY2023 (September 30, 2023 calendar year), the Ukrainian Armed Forces will receive weapons under the fastest support program, which involves delivery from Pentagon stocks.
