The first of nearly three hundred K239 Chunmoo multiple rocket launchers will soon be delivered to Poland. This was announced by Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak.

Here's What We Know

South Korean company Hanwha signed a framework agreement late last year with the Polish Ministry of Defence. The European country has ordered 288 missile systems, and the first will be delivered in early August 2023.

Deliveries of the K239 Chunmoo will continue until 2027. Notably, the chassis used is a Polish Jelcz 8x8 truck. Poland will receive 18 systems in 2023, which will enable the first division to achieve initial combat readiness.

The K239 Chunmoo is capable of launching 239 mm and 600 mm rockets. The system is equipped with two containers for this purpose. The maximum launch range is 80 km and 290 km respectively. The K239 launcher, like the US HIMARS system, holds six rockets or one ballistic missile.
