RTX to supply the US Army with next-generation FLIR B-Kit thermal imaging cameras for M1 Abrams tanks for $117.5 million

RTX (formerly Raytheon Technologies) will supply thermal imaging cameras to the US Army. The US defence contractor has entered into an agreement with the US Department of Defense.

Here's What We Know

The US Army wants the third generation FLIR B-Kit thermal imaging cameras. Production of the thermal imaging cameras will start before the end of this year. Deliveries will continue until 2027. The amount of the deal is $117.5 million.

The FLIR B-Kit third generation is an advanced thermal imaging camera for intelligence and surveillance. The US Army needs new solutions for the fire control system in the upgraded M1 Abrams tanks. The FLIR B-Kit can also be used on other armoured vehicles.
