Israel has received three more modified F-35I Adir fifth-generation fighters
The Israeli Air Force has received a new batch of fifth-generation F-35I Adir fighter jets. This week the service was replenished with three aircraft.
Here's What We Know
The 140th Squadron has been augmented with three aircraft. The fifth-generation fighters have flight numbers 958, 959 and 960. It is worth noting that Israel receives F-35I Adir for free. Recently, a $3bn contract was signed for the delivery of 25 more aircraft. The deal will be funded by US aid funds.
The Israeli version of the fifth-generation fighter has avionics created by companies from Israel. The F-35I Adir can carry Spice-100, Python-5 and Stunner missiles.
The purchase of 25 aircraft will make Israel's F-35 fleet the third largest in the world. Only the United States and Japan have more fifth-generation fighters.
