North Korea has been regularly launching ballistic missiles of various ranges towards Japan over the past year, which fall in the Sea of Japan. But now the DPRK has made several launches in the other direction.

Here's What We Know

Over the weekend, North Korea launched several cruise missiles towards the Yellow Sea, which lies between the Korean Peninsula and the People's Republic of China. This is reported by the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Republic of Korea. The cruise missile launches were the first in four months.

The DPRK has carried out several ballistic missile launches this month. Last week, the strategic missile cruiser USS Kentucky arrived in the city of Busan. After that, the DPRK launched two short-range ballistic missiles. A week earlier, North Korea tested a Hwasong-18 intercontinental ballistic missile.

Meanwhile, another US Navy nuclear submarine arrived in the Republic of Korea. The USS Annapolis has called at a port on Jeju Island to receive military cargo. The Los Angeles-class submarine is a carrier of Tomahawk vertical-launch cruise missiles.
