Aselsan develops GÜRZ air defence system to destroy cruise missiles, drones, planes and helicopters

Turkish defence company Aselsan is working on a new air defence system. The air defence system is named GÜRZ and will be announced at the IDEF 2023 exhibition.

Here's What We Know

The GÜRZ is an air defence system on a wheeled chassis. The cannon and launcher are mounted on an Anadolu Isuzu Seyit 8x8 truck.

The air defence system is designed to destroy low-flying aerial objects. The list of potential targets includes unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles, aeroplanes and helicopters.

The 35mm cannon is capable of firing HEI and ATOM ammunition. Four launchers are provided for the use of Bozdoğan and Gökdoğan missiles.
