Germany and Sweden are negotiating a new military aid package for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, under which Ukraine may receive additional IRIS-T SAM launchers.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by the Bloomberg edition, citing its sources. Germany has asked Sweden to provide Ukraine with SAM launchers for air defence. In addition, Germany asks to transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine missiles for the complex, which Sweden uses with the system Robotsystem 98.

By the way, Sweden has five IRIS-T systems in SLS modification in service. The Swedish army received the installations in 2019. As Spiegel writes, apparently, the country does not yet want to give up the SAM, which is in demand. In addition, the decision to transfer SAMs is also influenced by the slow process of Sweden's accession to NATO.
