The Boeing and Saab companies will soon supply the Ukrainian army with GLSDB precision-guided munitions.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by Boeing's senior business director Jim Leary. According to Leary, preparations for the deliveries are proceeding according to plan. That is, the ammunition should be transferred to the Ukrainian Defence Forces this winter. Interestingly, the US will also provide Ukraine with new launchers to launch GLSDB, although earlier it was assumed that the AFU would be able to use its HIMARS and M270 systems.

Flashback

GLSDB (Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb) is a combination of a GBU-39 small diameter bomb and a rocket motor. The GLSDB has a maximum range of 150 kilometres. By the way, the US approved the delivery of the GLSDB almost a year ago. At this point, Boeing and Saab had not yet finalised the development of the projectile.
