Israeli army uses new Eitan APCs against Hamas terrorists in Gaza Strip

The Israel Defence Forces have begun using the latest Eitan armoured personnel carriers in combat operations against Hamas terrorists.

Here's What We Know

A photo of the APC was published by the official Twitter account of the Israel Defence Forces. The first armoured personnel carriers entered service in the spring of this year. The IDF uses Eitan APCs together with tank units in urban battles in the Gaza Strip.

Flashback

The Eitan is an 8-wheeled armoured vehicle, which was created to replace the M113. The APC is equipped with Iron Fist active defence system. The vehicle can reach speeds of up to 90 km/h and can carry up to 12 people, including 3 crew members. The Eitan is supplied with a 30-40 mm cannon and Spike APC. The vehicle's armour complies with STANAG 4569 level 4 standard.
