The US will give Israel SPICE precision aerial bombs that can be used in the absence of a GPS signal

The United States plans to transfer SPICE bombs to the Israel Defence Force.

Here's What We Know

The information was shared by The Wall Street Journal. U.S. officials confirmed that Israel requested SPICE bombs on 7 November. They plan to produce them at the factories of Rafael USA, and after that the bombs will be transferred to the Israeli parent company Rafael Advanced Defence Systems. The total amount of the order is $320 million.

SPICE (Smart, Precision Impact, Cost-Effective) are high-precision air-to-surface bombs with a guidance system that can operate even in the absence of a GPS signal. SPICE bombs were adopted into service in 2003. They were the first to be used by the Israeli Air Force's F-16 squadron.
