Ukraine to receive two more IRIS-T air defence systems by the end of 2023

Germany plans to supply Ukraine with another batch of IRIS-T surface-to-air missile systems.

This was announced by the German ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jäger. We are talking about two SAM systems. They are planned to be transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the end of the year. Jäger also said that Ukraine now has three IRIS-T surface-to-air missile systems in service.

IRIS-T is a medium-range surface-to-air missile system. It was developed by the German company Diehl Defence in 2014. The complex is designed to destroy aircraft, helicopters, drones, cruise and ballistic missiles. IRIS-T is considered one of the most advanced air defence systems.
