US hands Ukraine new arms package, including AIM-9 Sidewinder and AIM-7 Sparrow air defence missiles

On 6 December, the United States of America announced the transfer of a new arms package for Ukraine.

What is known

The new package is designed for $175,000,000. It includes:

• AIM-9M and AIM-7 missiles for air defence;
• Additional ammunition for HIMARS;
• 155mm and 105mm artillery shells;
• HARM high-velocity anti-radiation missiles;
• TOW optically guided missiles;
• Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
• Over 4 million rounds of small arms ammunition;
• Vehicles for towing and transporting equipment;
• Ammunition for clearing obstacles;
• Equipment to protect critical infrastructure;
• Spare parts, maintenance, and other support equipment.
