The United States has conducted the first active testing of the new M-SHORAD air defence system.

Here's What We Know

The installation was tested during exercises in the mountains of Slovakia. The installation is based on the Stryker infantry fighting vehicle. It boasts a FIM-92 Stinger launcher, as on the Avenger SAM, as well as two AGM-114L Longbow Hellfire missiles. The M-SHORAD is capable of engaging ground and air targets, including UAVs and helicopters.
