IRIS-T SLM SAMs, Leopard 1A5 tanks, Marder BMPs and other weapons: Germany has revealed what it plans to transfer to Ukraine in 2024 to the amount of 7.5bn euros

It has recently become known that Germany plans to transfer military aid worth 7.5bn euros to Ukraine in 2024. Now the defence ministry has published a press release with a detailed list of weapons.

Here's What We Know

So, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive:

  • IRIS-T SLM air defence systems
  • Gepard anti-aircraft tanks
  • Additional artillery systems and more than 230,000 ammunition for them
  • More than 80 Leopard 1A5 tanks
  • Marder infantry fighting vehicles
  • Pionierpanzer armoured engineer vehicles
  • Biber bridge laying vehicles
  • 450 protected vehicles
  • Wisent armoured minefield breaching vehicles
  • 6 Sea King Mk41 helicopters
  • Other armaments

In addition, Germany said it plans to train more than 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers in 2024. The Defence Ministry also confirmed that it had handed over the second battery of Patriot surface-to-air missile systems and 56 interceptor missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
