Gears of War creator believes the series needs a God of War-style reboot
Gears of War was once one of the biggest and most popular video game franchises. Thanks to the trilogy of epic third-person shooters created by Epic Games, the series has gained an army of fans, as well as followers who have tried to recreate its success, especially with the jewellery shooting mechanic. Nevertheless, the series still retains its popularity, although it has obviously lost some of its "shine".
Here's What We Know
Cliff Bleszinski, the creator of the series and director of the original trilogy, is confident that Gears of War can be restored to its previous level by pressing the "reset" button. He believes that the series simply needs to get a reboot, as Sony did with God of War in 2018, and expressed his readiness to provide advice on such a project if he receives confirmation:
"I believe Gears needs a little bit of a reboot, like God of War had. I’ve always said, [Microsoft Gaming CEO] Phil Spencer has my number, I’m happy to consult. Gears will always be near and dear to my heart."
At the moment, there is no information about specific plans of Microsoft or developers from The Coalition to relaunch Gears of War.
