The authoritative portal Windows Central summarised and chose the best games of 2023 in different categories for PC and Xbox.

According to Windows Central the Best PC game was Baldur's Gate 3, and the leader on US consoles was the colourful rhythm action game Hi-Fi Rush.

Lies of P was the Best New Game on Game Pass, while Alan Wake 2 was recognised for its gorgeous visuals.

• Best Game Pass novelty of the year - Lies of P;
• Visual of the Year - Alan Wake 2;
• Best Sound and Music - Hi-Fi Rush;
• Outstanding Developers - S.T.A.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.

Notably, Xbox mainstay and Todd Howard's lifelong dream Starfield is not recognised in any category.
