The wait is over: Minecraft: Bedrock Edition will have official support for mods
Mojang has announced a major update for Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, which essentially introduces modifications to the game that can be accessed through the Minecraft Marketplace. Players will be able to add new blocks, mobs, items, recipes, and other content to their existing and new worlds.
Here's What We Know
While modding has been a staple of Minecraft in general, Minecraft: Bedrock Edition did not support it, as this feature was primarily associated with the Java version of Minecraft.
It remains unclear whether the add-ons available on the Minecraft Marketplace will be monetised. Currently, Mojang has released a number of add-ons for free to all Minecraft: Bedrock Edition players. These include: "All Wool, Spark Pets, More Furniture, Spark Portals, Computers, and Traveller's Friend.
Where To Play
Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is available on all gaming and non-gaming platforms.
