"Exhausted" - Hellblade creator reveals reason for leaving Ninja Theory studio
Next month sees the release of Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, the ambitious sequel to 2017's excellent game.
The game is being worked on by UK studio Ninja Theory and this week it was accidentally revealed that Hellblade creator and co-founder Tameem Antoniades has long since left the company.
Here's What We Know
Information about the departure of Tameem Antoniades was reported not by the studio, and not the game designer, but by Polygon journalists. Now the developer himself has confirmed this information.
On his Instagram page Antoniades said that after the release of the first part of Hellblade he stayed at the studio for only two years. Thus, we know that he quit back in 2019.
Tamim explained that he was too tired of the workload and made the decision to leave Ninja Theory after he was convinced that the team could do the job without him.
The former director emphasised that he feels proud of his team and is confident that the new game will be a worthy sequel to Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice and will not disappoint the public.
When We Can Expect It
Senua's Saga: Hellblade II will be released on May 21 on PC and Xbox Series. The game will be available on Game Pass from day one.
