The Xbox president said that the addition of Diablo IV to Game Pass has generated a huge amount of interest from US console users
As soon as it became known that Microsoft was planning to acquire Activision Blizzard, analysts assumed that the main purpose of the deal was to add the publisher's games to the Game Pass catalogue.
In late March, the first Activision Blizzard game - Diablo 4 - appeared in the service, and, apparently, the corporation's plan worked.
Here's What We Know
Xbox president Sarah Bond said that Diablo IV's release on Game Pass instantly made Xbox the most popular platform for action-RPGs.
While games of this genre have traditionally been most popular on PC, the availability of Diablo IV on the subscription service has attracted a huge amount of attention from US console users, making "Xbox the #1 platform for Diablo" ©.
Game Pass users will soon be treated to some big new releases from other developers, including Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, Avowed and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, but Microsoft will continue to actively add other Activision Blizzard games to the service.
