Xiaomi 13 Ultra - Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, four 50MP cameras, 5x zoom, 120Hz AMOLED TCL C7 display and IP68 protection from $875
As expected, Xiaomi has announced another flagship smartphone. It's called the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
Here's What We Know
The flagship is equipped with TCL's 6.73" AMOLED C7 display. The refresh rate ranges from 1Hz to 120Hz, the resolution is 3,200 x 1,400 pixels and the dot density is 522 ppi. The panel has received support for Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10+. Peak brightness reaches 2600 nits. The matrix is covered by Gorilla Glass Victus glass.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra features a Quad camera with 50 MP + 50 MP + 50 MP + 50 MP + 50 MP, optical stabilisation, support for 8K@24FPS and 4K@60FPS. The main module is based on a 1" Sony IMX989 sensor with 1.6µm pixels. The lens has a variable aperture of f/1.9-4.
The two telephoto lenses and the ultra wide-angle camera feature Sony IMX858 image sensors with 1.4µm pixels. The optical format is 1/2.51". The optical zoom is 3.2x and 5x. The ultra-wide-angle camera lacks optical stabilisation.
At the heart of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, complemented by 8/16GB of RAM. The storage capacity ranges from 256GB to 1024GB. The battery has a capacity of 5000mAh. The smartphone is equipped with Surge P2 and G1 processors that boost energy efficiency. According to the manufacturer, when the charge level drops to 1 per cent, the device can run for another 60 minutes and 12 minutes in talk mode. The wired and wireless charging power is 90 watts and 50 watts respectively.
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra gets NFC, USB-C, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, an in-display fingerprint scanner and a 32 MP front-facing camera. The software platform is the Android 13 operating system, complete with MIUI 14 firmware. The casing has IP68 water protection.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will go on sale in 8/256GB, 16/512GB and 16/1024GB variants at $875, $945 and $1060 respectively. The smartphone will be available in white, black and green body colours by the end of April 2023.
