Xiaomi 14 Ultra unveiled: titanium version, camera with inch sensor and variable aperture, two-way satellite communication and price from $900
Xiaomi today held a presentation in China and unveiled another flagship in the Xiaomi 14 lineup, the top-of-the-line Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
Technical Characteristics
In general, the design of the smartphone inherited from its predecessor: a large round block of the main camera on the back, a frontal cut into the screen, a frameless display. There are three versions with different materials to choose from: with a faux leather back panel, blue Dragon Crystal model and titanium Titanium Special Edition. For the latter, Xiaomi used grade 5 titanium, just like in the iPhone.
Of course, the main feature of the novelty is the camera, developed in cooperation with Leica. It combines 4 sensors of 50 MP each. At the heart is a 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor with a variable aperture from f/1.63 to f/4.0. Then there are two periscopes using a 1/2.5-inch Sony IMX858 sensor, with 3.2x and 5x optical zoom. Completing the picture is an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 122-degree viewing angle. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra can perform 30x zoom with artificial intelligence, shoot 4K videos at 60 and 120fps, as well as 8K videos. According to the manufacturer, the camera offers 205 per cent more light capture than the iPhone 15 Pro Max's main module lens.
The flagship also gets a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of internal storage, a 3x larger cooling chamber and a 5,300mAh battery that supports 90W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.
As for the display, it's a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1440×3200 pixels, a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, brightness up to 3000 nits, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support. Shield Glass, as Xiaomi assures, is 10 times more resistant to drops.
Apart from this, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra Titanium Special Edition supports two-way satellite communication.

Pricing is as follows:
- 12/256GB - $905
