Xiaomi Mix Fold 2: more stylish and elegant competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Fold 4, and even $500 cheaper
Yesterday, Samsung held Galaxy Unpacked presentation where its new foldable smartphones Galaxy Fold 4 and Galaxy Flip 4 debuted. And today a response from Xiaomi followed - they showed a competitor to the Galaxy Fold 4 - Xiaomi Mix Fold 2.
What we know
Of course, everyone's tastes are different, but in appearance Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 leaves the Galaxy Fold 4 behind. The manufacturer did a great job on the design and managed to put the advanced "stuffing" in a pretty sleek body. When unfolded, its thickness is 5.4 mm, when folded - 11.2 mm. Although the camera unit still stands out well above the surface. The device weighs about 262 g.
The smartphone uses a 6.56-inch AMOLED panel with 120 Hz and Gorilla Glass Victus protective glass on the outside and an 8.02-inch LTPO main screen with 120 Hz and 2160×1914 pixel resolution. Both support Dolby Vision, 1000-nits peak brightness and TrueColour.
Inside we see a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor paired with 12GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage and a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. It will only take 40 minutes to charge up to 100%. The gadget runs under MIUI Fold 13 based on Android 12 operation.
The main camera is developed together with Xiaomi's new partner Leica. It includes a 50 MP Sony IMX766 sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x zoom.
