Xiaomi released MIUI 12.5 for Redmi Note 7 globally

Xiaomi began updating Redmi Note 7 in China to MIUI 12.5 in July this year, and has now released the system globally.

What we know

The firmware has already become available to some smartphone owners. The update has been released with build numbers V12.5.1.0.QFGMIXM (Global), V12.5.1.0.QFGEUXM (EEA), V12.5.1.0.QFGRUXM (Russia) and V12.5.1.0.QFGINXM (India).

As for the list of changes, it is standard for MIUI 12.5. That is, the smartphone received new animations, slightly modified interface, new live wallpapers, more system nature sounds, several updated applications, improved privacy and much more.

Recall, Redmi Note 7 debuted in 2019 with MIUI 10 and Android 9.0 Pie on board. Since then, the device has received two major system updates: MIUI 11 and MIUI 12 based on Android 10. The smartphone is unlikely to upgrade to Android 11, but MIUI 13 might.
