YouTube removed the controversial anti-war episode of "Masyanya" about Mariupol and the bombing of cities

Today the video hosting site YouTube removed the anti-war episode of "Masyanya" called "Episode 162. St. Marybourg."

Why?

According to the author of the project Oleg Kuvaev, YouTube referred to a complaint from a user. A certain Igor Sobolev claimed copyright infringement - allegedly the view of St. Isaac's Cathedral in the cartoon was copied from his photo.

"Although there is just a frontal view of St. Isaac's Cathedral there, anyone who has photographed it can so complain. That is, the claim is extremely dubious. Although pictures from the Internet, of course, were used, but how else to draw? From memory? There is no violation. But YouTube was so scared of some "sobolev", that the cartoon with 4 million views was just deleted! Not blocked, not temporarily blocked access... but TOTALLY REMOVED! YouTube, have you lost your mind?" - Oleg Kuvayev wrote on Facebook.

But after the hype in the social networks YouTube returned the episode, preserving the number of views, and "likes" and comments.

Recall, "Episode 162. St. Marybourg" tells about China's attack on Russia and the bombing of Russian cities. As everyone has already guessed, the author draws a parallel between St. Petersburg and Mariupol and shows how Ukrainians feel after the start of the Russian invasion. What is interesting is that, according to the plot of the cartoon, the Russians are "evacuated" to Ukraine: Irpen, Bucha, and Mariupol, where peace reigns.

"Empathy is the main human feeling. The ability to empathize. The ability to put yourself in the place of another. This cartoon is addressed to those who, by some monstrous mistake, support the Russian-Ukrainian war," the series description reads.
