YouTube introduces 24-hour bans to combat spam in comments

YouTube reports that it will start sending notifications to users who have violated the rules of the platform by posting comments.
If after such warnings from the platform the user continues to write offensive comments, YouTube can take away this opportunity for 24 hours. "Our testing has shown that these warnings/timeouts reduce the likelihood that users will leave offensive comments again," Rob writes in a TeamYouTube post.
Currently, this notification is only available for comments in English, "but we hope to have it available in more languages in the coming months," Rob says. The company has also improved its ability to detect spam in comments as well as bots in chat rooms.
