YouTube now has not only videos but also games - the company has launched a Playables section.

Details

Playables is a gaming section of YouTube that doesn't require downloading games. That is, you can play directly on the YouTube website or in the mobile app.

There are currently 37 games available in the section, one of which is Angry Birds Showdown.

This section has been tested since September, but only now it has become available to all users. To be exact, not all, but only Premium subscribers - a paid tariff that allows you to watch videos without adverts, save clips, continue watching offline or in the background. Some YouTube Premium users have already started receiving notifications about the launch of Playables.

It looks like the section is running in test mode for now. According to YouTube, the service will be available until 28 March 2024. What happens next depends on how popular Playables will be (and whether it will be at all).
