In the case of Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro, the Material You themes only change the appearance of Google apps and their widgets. That is, it is Gmail, Google Chrome, Google Calendar, etc. The MIUI 13 shell interface itself remains the same. Perhaps in future software updates this will fix it.
