Apple filed a class-action lawsuit over the “jelly” iPad Mini screen: users demand damages
Colorado resident Christopher Bryan filed a class action lawsuit against Apple on Wednesday, accusing the company of fraudulent marketing in iPad mini sales. 6th generations.
What's wrong?
Almost immediately after the start of sales of the iPad mini 6 tablet, which was introduced last year, users began to complain about the "jelly" screen of the device. This is when different sides of the display scroll the picture at different speeds, which leads to image fluctuations.
Later Apple stated that the effect of "jelly scrolling" is quite expected on LCD screens, since they "update line by line", which is what causes the delay.
At the same time, iFixit says that the effect is typical for displays, but it may be more noticeable on the new iPad mini. due to that the display controller board is installed vertically inside the device instead of horizontally, as in the fourth generation iPad Air.
The complaint, filed in Northern California District Court, alleges that Apple is aware of the defect but continues to sell the iPad mini without fixing the problem or amending its marketing materials. The company is required to pay damages to customers who bought problematic tablets.
