Google stops licensing Russian Android smartphones
By: Myroslav Trinko | 28.03.2022, 12:16
Corporation Google will no longer issue a license for the release of Russian Android smartphones.
What is known
This is reported by Mobile-Review, referring to an official statement. Google. This means that companies in Russia will not be able to release their own Android smartphones with pre-installed Google services (Gmail, Google Photos, Gboard, Google Play, Google Meet, etc.). Restrictions introduced because of the US export law, which prohibits the transfer of American technology to countries subject to sanctions.
By the way, the new rules do not apply to gadgets licensed in other regions, but in theory, Google may ban the sale of all Android devices with GMS in the country. Perhaps this will be the next step.
