Samsung removed the letter Z from the names of folding smartphones
Samsung has unexpectedly changed the names of its foldable smartphones.
What is known
This was told by Indian insider Ishan Agarwal. Innovations appeared on Samsung websites in Latvia and Estonia. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G is now called Galaxy Fold 3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G is Galaxy Flip 3 5G. That is, the devices have lost the letter Z in the names.
The Korean manufacturer does not say why they had to change the names, but it's easy to guess that it's all because of Russia. The fact is that the Russian occupiers use the letter Z as a symbol of the invasion of Ukraine. And in order not to be associated with them, the company had to take such a step.
By the way, in some regions of Germany will be fined for using this symbol, but in the Czech Republic they want to equate it with the Nazi swastika.
