The 155mm FH70 howitzers donated by Italy are already destroying Russian fighters at the front

Last week, we wrote that Italy was going to transfer FH70 howitzers to Ukraine. As it turns out, we already have them.

What is known

This was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on its Facebook page. How many howitzers we received, unfortunately, is unknown.

Recall that FH70 is 1British-German 55mm howitzer. She was accepted into service in 1978. That is, it is older than the American M777, but at the same time it has the same operating range - 20-30 km (depending on the shells). It has a semi-automatic shell loader, thanks to which the howitzer is capable of firing 6 rounds per minute. 

The FH70 has a 1700 cc Volkswagen engine. cm, which feeds the hydraulics of the gun when it is transferred to a combat state. In addition, the engine allows the FH70 to move independently without a tractor for a range of up to 20 km at low speed.
