Some Russian ISPs have received a message from Google that they are terminating deals to maintain Google Global Cache servers.

What does it mean?

Russian media write that the Irish subsidiary of Google had given notice of the shutdown of servers due to "changes in legal practice". In the near future, Google representatives should contact Russian providers to decommission the servers.

We are talking about providers "MIPT-Telecom" and "Focus Life". At the same time, the servers were turned off on May 19th.

By the way, the Google Global Cache (GGC) content delivery network is designed to optimize network load, that is, to speed up the loading of Google services, including YouTube content. In addition, the GGC servers host the Google reCAPTCHA robot protection service.
