Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down a unique Russian helicopter Mi-35MS for VIP transportation (photo)
The Ukrainian defenders successfully eliminated another target - the Russian Mi-35MS helicopter.
What kind of animal is this?
According to the Department of Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the servicemen shot down a unique Mi-35MS with a swashplate, like the shock Mi-28.
The swashplate is a mechanism for controlling the main rotor, which provides control of the vertical movement of the helicopter, as well as its inclination in roll and pitch. To do this, the machine periodically changes the installation angle of each propeller blade, depending on where the blade is at a certain point in time during the rotation of the propeller as a whole.
According to UNIAN, the Mi-35MS is a modified version of the Mi-35M combat helicopter, a communications and control helicopter designed for VIP transportation and developed for the Russian military command. As of January 2017, there were over 120 Mi35-M helicopters in Russia. The cost of one such helicopter in 2013 was up to $36 million.
