Russian propaganda in the middle of last month actively promoted the Terminator-2 tank support combat vehicle, but now the surviving equipment is waiting for withdrawal from Ukraine.

What is known

BMPT "Terminator-2" was never used in battles. She did not pass the baptism of Ukrainian fire. The vehicles entered the territory of our country, promptly showed their incapacity in the current conditions, and now they are waiting to be taken out of Ukraine or at least taken away from the front.

At the end of May, armored vehicles came under artillery fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is unlikely that our soldiers managed to destroy all the fighting vehicles of the invaders. But there is information that at least three Terminator-2 BMPTs were damaged, of which one vehicle is unlikely to fight again.

The key reasons for the uselessness of the Terminators in battles are their huge weight and weapons. Firstly, the combat vehicle, which should cover the tanks, turned out to be less mobile than the tanks themselves. Its mass is more than 50 tons with a full load, which exceeds the mass of the tank T-72B3 and does not match the capabilities of the V-92S2 engine. Secondly, the armament of the BMPT "Terminator-2" is meaningless at long distances, where the bulk of the collisions take place.

Now the Russian command is faced with a choice. In order not to lose all the surviving Terminator-2 BMPTs, they must either be taken away from the front line, or even sent home to Russia. And it is unlikely that they will already be back.
