France has come up with an analogue of the Javelin missile, which can be launched from a drone
The French at the exhibition Eurosatory 2022, which takes place in Paris, talked about the development of a guided missile AKERON fifth generation.
What is known
The company presented the novelty MBDA. AKERON built on rockets MHT and MMP, which can be called analogous Javelins. It will be available in two versions.
Version AKERON MP will be used for ground launch. The flight range will be 5 km. The second option is called AKERONLP. This rocket will be able to fly up to 15 km. It is primarily focused on launching from helicopters, but the company MBDA declares that this missile can be mounted on a drone.
The French army has already begun to receive the first copies AKERON MP. As for AKERONLP, it still exists only on paper and in a concept video.
