Ukrainian paratroopers published a video of a Russian Ka-52 helicopter destruction by the British Martlet Missile
The Armed Forces of Ukraine in two days destroyed the second Russian military helicopter Ka-52 "Alligator" worth $16 million
What we know
The first one was shot down by air defense unit of the 79th separate air assault brigade in the Nikolaev region with the help of the Igla anti-aircraft missile system. Another helicopter was also destroyed in the south of Ukraine, but by the troops of the 95th separate air assault brigade.
They used a British portable anti-aircraft missile system Martlet LMM. The weapon is developed by the company Thales. The missile weighs 13 kg and carries a 3 kg warhead. The flight speed is Mach 1.5 (1852.2 km / h), and the range is up to 8 km.
Martlet is equipped with a thermal imager, which facilitates the search for targets in the air. Note that the missile is unified, and it can be launched also from sea and air platforms.
