Ukraine will receive "African" Mi-8 helicopters for $500,000,000
The Security Service of Ukraine found several Mi-8 helicopters for the Armed Forces.
What is known
The SBU detained the head of one of the private aviation companies, which did not return leased helicopters worth about $500,000,000 to Ukraine. The security service notes that 20 years ago, the company leased ten Mi-8MT and Mi-8MTV helicopters.
According to the agreement between the military unit and the company, the latter was obliged to return all helicopters in case of martial law in Ukraine. But the company decided to keep all the Mi-8s for itself and continued to make money on subleasing in West Africa.
Now the Security Service of Ukraine is trying to bring to justice all those responsible and return all helicopters to the country. So we expect that the fleet of the Armed Forces will be replenished with ten "iron birds".
